There are various types of drawings prepared for HVAC Projects from start to end which is listed below:-

  1. Concept Drawing
  2. Reflected Ceiling Plan Drawing
  3. Design Drawing
  4. Co-ordination Drawing
  5. Tender Drawing
  6. Shop Drawing
  7. As-Build Drawing
  1. Concept Drawing: –

This drawing is prepared at the initial stage of the project, it will give a basic idea of the overall project & also provide a tentative design concept of the HVAC system.

2. Reflected Ceiling Plan Drawing: –

This Drawing is prepared in the preliminary stage of the project by consultants, it shows the location of HVAC Equipment without any ducting and piping routing, like diffuser, grills, fans location in-ceiling plan drawing. This equipment capacity and location are decided based on the thumb rule and past experience.  It will help the client to understand the location of equipment’s in co-ordinate with other services in the reflected ceiling plan view.

3. Design Drawing:

After the approval on the reflected ceiling plan design drawing developed by a consultant based on the heat load, airside, and waterside calculations. It shows the piping and duct routing, air distribution products, and other necessary equipment with their capacities and dimensions. In this stage, various drawings prepared as listed below:-

  • Ducting Layout
  • Piping Layout
  • Section Layout
  • Low Side and High Side P& ID
  • Air Flow Diagram
  • AHU, Pressure, Area Classification Zoning Layouts

4. Co-ordination Drawing:

This drawing is prepared for Coordination among all service agencies during site execution if any clashes occur. Superimpose all service layouts on the civil layout.

E.g. Fire pipe coming in the route of duct, electrical light, and ac diffuser falls on the same location in the drawing, the ceiling is above and the duct is below.

These problems are rectified through the coordination drawing and We ensure through this drawing all services should go hand–in–hand to ensure the project completes smoothly.

5. Tender Drawing: –

After the approval of the design drawing from the client, the consultant prepared the tender drawing to float the project in the market for bidding. Based on this drawing BOQ is prepared. In this drawing, all scope of supply, terms, and conditions, are mentioned related to the project.

6. Shop Drawing:-

After finalizing the contractor for execution of project shop drawing is prepared by him, in which complete details are provided for each component/element, every small detail should be provided in the drawings with exact length and quantities, any fault in design can also be rectified through RFIs. It’s actually a phase between design and Installation. Before purchase and installation of each piece of equipment contractor required approval on shop drawing and technical data sheet from a consultant.

7. As Build Drawing –

There are changes in the actual installation of equipment and showing Shop drawings. Drawings that reflect the as-constructed conditions of a project is called Build drawing. The drawings are created by marking on the contract drawings any field-built deviations from the contract documents. Think of these drawings as a record of the final constructed product and it will help during the maintenance of any equipment.
