Solved Example
Chilled Water Pipe Designing or Sizing:
Requirement: (Parameters)
- Flow Rate in GPM ( lit/Sec or m3/sec)
- 1 US Gallon = 3.78 lit
- 1 TR = 2.4 gpm ( if ∆T = 100F , CHWR-CHWS= 100F)
- Flow Rate = (TR x 24) / ∆T gpm
- From load calculation HAP report
- Chilled water piping layout
- Velocity in FPS
- Friction (ft/100’ or pipe length)
Using Pipe Sizer Software
Previous Example
Steps to use Pipe Sizer
- Select the material and schedule
- Standard chilled water Temperature = 500F Water
- Select any Diameter and check the velocity
- In order to get the required velocity decrease or increase diameter
